Jackie Morris was a Girls on the Run Champion! She coached 10+ years, mostly in the Allentown School District, positively impacting the lives of 100+ girls. Jackie always WENT THE EXTRA MILE.
Jackie believed in EDUCATION FIRST. She believed that education could solve personal and world problems. Which is why she sacrificed a large portion of her life to send her children to private schools, and college.
Jackie was a ROLE MODEL. For example, when COVID hit in 2020, she decided to turn a negative into a positive and use the lessons she taught girls in GOTR to improve herself. She set a goal to lose 40 pounds and accomplished it in 6 months by focusing on her nutrition and walking/running every day. Then to celebrate, on her 62nd birthday, she decided to face her fears of heights and publicly announcing her age by hiking up Glen Onoko to the topmost waterfall. Her first mountain hike!
Jackie passed on March 8, 2021 from Stage IV cancer with a rare sarcoma. She is remembered mostly in our hearts, but also through the Jackie Morris Scholarship Fund and memorial trees in the Little Lehigh Parkway and Allentown Rose Gardens.
